LEXINGTON, Ky. – The fourth-ranked Kentucky rifle team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 4678-4615 victory over Great America Rifle Conference opponent and 15th-ranked Army on Sunday at the Buell Armory.

The Wildcats improved to 2-0 in GARC competition. All six of UK”s wins this season have come against ranked opponents.

Kentucky posted smallbore and air rifle scores of 2318 and 2360 respectively. Army (3-4, 2-2 GARC) combined for a 2283 smallbore and 2332 mark in air rifle.

Kentucky turned in its second best score of the season to edge seventh-ranked Murray State 4684-4661 on Friday.

UK has wins over No. 7 Murray State, No. 9 Akron, No. 12 Navy, No. 15 Army, No. 17 NC State and No. 14 UT-Martin.

Kentucky will conclude the road portion of the season with a demanding trip to Fairbanks, Alaska in two weeks’ time. The Wildcats will face perennial powers Alaska and Nebraska in consecutive days Nov. 21 and 22, at the site of the 2015 NCAA Championships.
